This non-selective contact herbicide is used to proect crops against annual and certain perennial weeds . It only affects the green parts of plants sprayed ,stopping the energy producing cells(chloroplts) and rapidly deicating the tisue . Because it has nno effect on woody tisue ,it allows for efficient inter-row application on a wide range of crops ,especially tree and shrub crops, such as oliv trees,tea plants,coffe trees or grpevines.
Being not transportd within the plant tissues,it has three benefits:extremely safe to crops; no residues to be found in the crop produce; the wed root system remain intact, thus contributing significantly to soil and nutrient conservation. On reaching soil,it is broken down into simple environmentally bengin compounds (such as co2),so it does not have a negative effect on ground water or soil organisms even after year of repeated applications.
